We came across hyperbaric oxygen therapy while looking for therapies for our seven-year-old son with severe disability. He was born prematurely with oxygen deprivation, resulting in multiple areas of his brain being damaged, with cerebral spastic paralysis (CP), unfortunately affecting all four limbs. We have tried many different therapies, some of which we did at home for years. As a result of these therapies, he is intellectually sound, bright and most important, he is happy. Unfortunately his tight muscles make his daily life very difficult as he is unable to crawl or walk.
We found hyperbaric oxygen therapy abroad recently and have been through 24 treatments so far. After just 9 treatments we noticed that the muscles around his mouth had loosened, he could brush his teeth much easier and then had to learn to speak again, now with less tight facial muscles. After the 20th treatment, he started using his hands, which was a huge step forward. Encouraged by this initial success, we decided to continue his treatment in Budapest. This is how the idea of Oxypont was born, where we now welcome all our guests.
